(for Ann)

Lose this night in music, and call me in the morning.
We’ll talk, ease anxiety,
       devise steps, work out schemes
      for survival.
I can’t respond to you tonight.
        I’m busy dealing with my own fright.
Just cool your head as best you can;
sooth in melodies ’til morning.
Tomorrow, when we unite with hugs,
        take comfort from our time together,
tomorrow we can strategize
        to steer toward better weather.
Got to run now, parties calling.
Hope your night goes smooth, or at least
you make it through to see another day.
Call me in the morning; I know we will find a way.
