Threnody

Leaves like falling stars
twinkle windy twilight.
Captured breathless scenes,
rapture memories.
Thick reverie
spins far into private liturgy.
 *
Resolute beat.
“This you can believe in,
creatures distilled in Earth.”
Filigreed trills,
ethereal choir.
Channeled liquid fire
pouring out salvation.
 *
Leaves twinkle falling.
Stars arise in twilight.
Their song soft, insistent
siren call.
Lost to primeval moorings.
Washed by eternal storm
to awake
transformed.
