Vote for Apathy

Lately I’ve given in to apathy.

And, it doesn’t matter, you know.

No one spares a thought to what I feel.

I find that not caring

    makes my mind so much freer.

No conscience to consult, no worries to alarm.

It’s as if I’m on an Ambien cloud.

Lately my sorrows and tragedies

appear rather humorous or dull.

The fears of my neighbors, woes of my friends

     send no thrill.

Content to view the world through 

    a monotone spectacle.

When the tsunamis hit,

I’ll stay cool all through it . . .

Lately, I’ve given in to apathy.
