Winter Spring

In dark of night and winter’s cold,
escaped to slumber’s warmth and love.
Ardent fire smolders, keep snug beneath
hopes for prosperous peace and growth.
Then why awake so chilled and lost,
unwilling to believe thaw’s hail?
May joy elate, recharge our hearts,
melt damming ice, soothe bruising’s pain.
May laughter cleanse and reunite
as wisdom’s spirit breaks through to light.
